نزلة

Corresponding to نَزَلَ (nazala, “to come down, to settle”) in reference to the phlegm in the course of a respiratory disease. Borrowing from unattested Classical Syriac ܢܸܙܠܬ݂ܵܐ (nezləṯā, “*catarrh, snot”), attested in Assyrian Neo-Aramaic in the sense of “pus” even as well as “snot”, is likely, given that נזל / ܢܙܲܠ (nzal) is a transitive verb specifically referring to flowing or shaking movements.
